Character changes: ==Freeze Update== Freeze is now 30% more cool. The increase in coolness is just to bring up awareness on the importance of water. (Ice is water in solid form.) Ice Punch may now be used while downed. You may begin casting icicle in midair after a jump or backflip, and it will continue when you land. Animation of summon sword has been updated. ==Henry Update== A new "Focus System" has been added. Standing still for a moment will cause Henry to enter into a 'focused' state, improving some of his skills. The following skills will be affected: Dragon Palm: Damage +10%, Knockback +100% Critical Shot: Damage +10%, Projectile Speed +50% Multiple Shot: Shots Fired +2 Sonata of the Death: Range gradually increases. ==Firen Update== Changed Firen's previously lame DvA move to a new, slightly less lame one: Fan Fire (25% MP) Input method: D + v + A Fires multiple fire balls which split into even more fire balls. During Inferno, Firen may now press 'A' to finish off with a longer ranged flame. (20% MP) Blaze may now be used while running or rolling. Flame Touch is now usable when downed. ==Rudolf Update== Sword dance reworked: Now costs 25% MP, and temporarily summons a clone to attack as well. ==Julian Update== Updated Julian to have a skill for DvA and DvJ, as well as a Last Word. (For the people who use cheats and play as Julian I guess? ¯\(°_o)/¯) Double Punch (15% MP) Input method: D + v + A Punch forward while summoning a clone to punch in the opposite direction. Guard Stance (10% MP + ...) Input method: D + v + J Assume a defensive stance to block enemy attacks. Drains MP until cancelled with 'Defend' During the stance, press 'Attack' to kick nearby enemies (5% MP), or 'Jump' to temporarily become invincible (15% MP). **Last Word (A+J): Soul Barrage** Fires a spread of six Soul Bombs. ==Firzen Update== Added Last Word. **Last Word (A+J): Antarctic Firestorm** Explode out with the ultimate power of fire and ice. Stage 5 Update! Stage 5 is now playable. It will feature every character in the game, and a little surprise at the end ;D New custom map - The Matrix Fight within a virtual reality arena. Lets just hope you don't encounter any fatal errors... Misc updates: Woody may now use flip kick while down. Removed multiserver. Reduced Bokor's skull blast cast speed. Slightly reduced saturation of healing balls and healing effects from John's Heal Divergence A for both self and others. Added a visual effect to Asche's run attack. Greetings, fellow fighters, Today, I will be releasing a patch, in which several characters will be updated. I realise that currently, not all characters are equal, but I'm working on it. Hopefully, this will make stage mode more playable. My goal when it comes to character updates is that all (playable) characters should have 8 moves; 7 normal moves on each of the default input methods, and an additional "Last Word" (A+J). Currently completed [11/18]: John, Henry, Firen, Freeze, Woody, Asche, Moeyy, Janice, Richie, Luce, Bat Work in progress (please wait warmly until it is ready) [7/18]: Deep, Rudolf, Louis, Dennis, Davis, Bart, Markus With this, I would say that this mod is a little over 50% done; 3/5 stages are complete, 6/11 default characters have been reworked, and 7 new characters have been added, of which, 5/7 are complete. Hopefully, it will be 100% done soon! New minions: New minion: Bokor! A voodoo sorcerer who practices black magic and creates zombies. Skills: Skull Blast (15% MP) Input method: D + > + A Fires a skull. Raise Corpse (40% MP) Input method: D + v + J Raises a corpse as a zombie to fight for you. Zombies are slow and weak, and die if they get knocked down New minion: Zombie! A re-animated corpse brought back to life by a bokor. Traits: + Pain Immunity: All injury reduced to 1 TU. Zombies are incapable of feeling pain. - Fragile: Dies if knocked down. - Undead: Drinks have no effect, and will be thrown instead. Zombies are unable to eat or drink the food of the living; it is poison to them. Skills: None. Stage changes: Stage 3: Reduced 3-4 boss HP. Changed some of the boss minions. Stage 2: Reduced the number of knights at the end of 2-1 and added a spellknight. Added two boxes at the end of 2-2. Added an additional phase at the end of 2-5. Added wpoint to Imperishable Shooting, and changed its sound effects. ==Firen== Added Last Word (A+J): Great Ball of Fire Spit out an unstoppable, massive ball of fire which burns everything in its path, leaving flames in its wake. Added new skill: Flame Touch (8% MP) Input method: D + J + A Ignite your fingertips and touch an enemy, burning them. Added new skill: Flash Fire (30% MP) Input method: D + v + A A quick breath of fire, useful in desperate situations. ==Freeze== Added Last Word (A+J): Great Wall of Ice Creates multiple icicles to build a wall that divides the battlefield in half and make the enemies pay. Added new skill: Ice Punch (12% MP) Input method: D + J + A Deliver a punch to an enemy that freezes them. This is a cold pun... Added new skill: Reflecting Laser (30% MP) Input Method: D + J + A Shoots a laser from your eyes that reflects off enemies to hit more enemies. Super punch and run attacks will now create a clone to perform the attack while retreating backwards. Fade may now be used when hit; but doing so will cost an additional 10% HP. AI will now use skills with beer, molotov cocktail, magic boomerang, bat of bats, cursed scythe, and milk. Added new skills to milk: Milk Blast (D + > + A): Fire a blast of milk at the enemy, damaging them. Milk Healing (D + > + J): Condense milk into a ball, which heals the first person to take it. ==Luce== Resonance now works for 1/3 of a second after using a skill. Normal attack speed increased, running attack speed recovery time reduced. High Kick input method changed to D+J+A. Pillar of Light input method changed to D+^+J, visual effects changed. Minor changes to morph's AI to reduce the chances of it morphing into lesser minions. Hellooo! Today I am pleased to announce that I have just finished revamping stage 3! It will feature a new boss whose attacks get 'upgraded' each time you defeat him! Stage 3 Revamp! Welcome to the Great Wall of China! Many magical items are available for the taking! However, you will face heavenly tribulation... This stage features a new final boss! Final boss must be defeated multiple times, and becomes stronger with every defeat. An (outdated) video of me testing stage 3. As of the latest release, as far as I know, the final phase works correctly. Can you figure out how to beat the final phase...? Character changes: Asche: Burning Ash Blast (D>A) reworked. It will now fire a slow and weak gray projectile. After flying for some time, it ignites and turns into a powerful burning projectile. Spontaneous Combustion (D>J) will now cause enemies to flinch when hit, and damage enemies upon exploding. Delay reduced slightly. Bart: Dirge for the Deceased (D>A) will now shoot the skulls throughout the duration of the skill. New skill: Ballad of Bats (10%MP + ...) Input method: D + > + J Plays an ultrasonic ballad that summons bats to fight for you. Press D to cancel. Richie: Ultimate Weapon durability reduced. Ultimate Weapon's D>A damage reduced (135 -> 75), colour changed to gray. Will now either burn and knockback, or freeze and pull. Ultimate Weapons' D>J BDefend reduced (60 -> 20). Ultimate Weapon will fly away if left unclaimed on ground for 3 seconds. Luce: Recovery time from Speed Kick reduced. Firen: Spirits of fire will alternate between summoning bats and skulls. Stage 2 changes: Reduced number of knights at start of 2-1 in multiplayer. The vampire bats are now red, and will now switch targets to the closest character after respawning. Bat of bats in 2-3 reworked. 3 will spawn at the enemy side, 2 will spawn at the player side. Will not respawn after use. Music changes: Stage 2 music changed to "Desire Drive" from Ten Desires. At 2-3, the music changes to "Desire Drive (Spirit world version)" from Ten Desires. Stage 3 music changed to "Shanghai Teahouse ~ Chinese Tea" from Hisoutensoku. Final Boss music changed to "The Venerable Ancient Battlefield ~ Suwa Foughten Field" from Mountain of Faith. New Minions: New minions have been added, and will be used in stages. They will be tagged with '[NPC]' in their name (Non-Player Character). Currently, I don't have a way to 'hide' them from character selection screen (yet), so I suggest simply not selecting them. (Unless of course, you also like to live dangerously...) New minion: Pyro! Typical pyromaniac arsonist with an unhealthy obsession with fire. Skills: Throw Molotov Cocktail (30% MP) Input Method: D + > + A Hurls a Molotov Cocktail in front. Suicide Bomb (60% MP) Input Method: D + J + A Blow yourself up. You will die in the process. New minion: Morph! An amorphous creature which vaguely resembles a human. Can transform into its enemies. Skills: Grab (10% MP) Input Method: D + > + J Leap forward and grab the enemy. Transform (30% MP) Input Method: Grab + D + J + A Transform into the enemy. New minion: Spellknight! A knight with basic magic. Skills: Energy Shield (20% MP) Input Method: D + > + J Create an energy shield that deflects most incoming attacks. Self-Heal (70% MP) Input Method: D + v + J Heal yourself. New minion: Frostknight! A knight with icy cold attacks. (Note: This is currently not used in stage, and will be used in stage 4) Skills: None New Item: Snowball! A large ball of snow, which can be thrown at enemies to freeze them. AI changes: Added AI for Moeyy. Fixed a bug where some characters could jump immediately after picking up a heavy item. The devils spawned from Orange Orb will now fly slightly higher. Molotov Cocktail now explodes after being thrown. Added a couple of easter eggs for all you dataminers / observant people xD. Hi people! In this update, some characters have a powerful Last Word added, and Stage 2 has been revamped! Last Word: Some characters may use a consummately powerful technique with J+A. It has no MP cost; however, it has a long start up time and can only be used once. Characters with Last Words added: Asche, Moeyy, Janice, Markus, Richie Stage Changes: 1-1: Number of bandits reduced. Stage 2 revamp! Fight your way through the Stanley Prison! Beware of vampire bats that constantly seek out fresh blood... These bats don't stay dead for long, but reform after being killed. Amass a large group of followers to wipe out the enemy's even larger group! Character Changes: Asche: Added new skill: Flame of Reincarnation (10% HP + 10% MP) Input Method: D + J + A A forbidden technique which destroys your own life force and recreates it. +20% HP, net gain of +10% HP. Added Last Word (A + J): Infernal Invigoration Use the power of fire to heal yourself while incinerating nearby enemies. Moeyy: Clone Explosion (D^A) and Fabulous Clone Detonation (DvA) delay before detonation reduced to 1 second. All skills may now be used while rolling. Reworked It's a Trap! (D>J) It will now create an annoying obstacle that seeks out enemies and hits them for minor damage. Also, 5 of the classic characters have been given new moves! Character changes: Luce: Input method for Pillar of Light changed to D+J+A High Kick and Speed Kick can now hit multiple enemies. High Kick horizontal displacement of enemies reduced. Speed Kick will now damage enemies it passes. Weapon throwing strength increased. Speed penalty when carrying a heavy item reduced. Fixed weapon not appearing beside her during High Kick and Speed Kick. High Kick and Speed Kick can now be used during a roll. Added new skill: Geistleibschläge (20% MP / Resonance: 15% MP) Input method: D + v + A Rapidly assault an enemy at close range with physical and magical attacks simultaneously. Markus: Crash punch and Rising Uppercut may now be used while lying. Moey: Cursed Clone Bomb replaced with new skill: Fabulous Clone Detonation (30% MP) Input method: D + v + A Creates a magnificent clone which self-detonates after 2 seconds, inundating the area with its fabulousness. Richie: When equipped with Freeze's sword, can use Ice Blast with D+>+A, or detonate (D+v+J) it to use Whirlwind. Added new moves to some classic characters! John: Multiple Energy Blasts (15% MP) Input method: D + J + A Fires a spread of three energy blasts with reduced range. Retreating Energy Blast (10% MP) Input method: D + v + A Retreat while firing a short range blast of energy ahead. Deep: Charged Blast (20% MP) Input method: D + J + A Charges up an energy blast, sending it flying further and faster. May be released prematurely for reduced effect by pressing 'A'. Henry: Imperishable Shooting (10% MP + ... ) Input method: D + v + A Rapidly fire arrows ahead. The shooting doesn't stop, until you press 'D' or run out of MP. Added a 'Spectate' option in character selection. When selected, you die upon spawning, allowing you to spectate the match. Greetings, humans! Today I have a new patch. Let's be honest, this one was kinda rushed, because I started researching on stuff like flammable liquids and molotov cocktails for the purpose of this patch, but then I realised that my web searches might be rather incriminating, so I decided to release this ASAP. That way, just in case the police start knocking on my door and questioning me, I at least have some proof that I did it for this game! Anyways, this patch will also introduce some new items and a new battlemage character who excels in swift attacks and combos. Her unique trait will also reward players who can react quickly and combo skillfully! New character: Luce! A battlemage who wields the power of light, and excels in fast attacks and combos. (Somewhat) comes with AI too! Traits: + Speed of Light: Running speed +10% Luce moves at the speed of light, or so she claims. + Resonance: Skills can be cancelled into other skills. Doing so reduces the MP cost of your next skill. Luce can adroitly use skills in quick succession, channeling the residual energy from one skill to another. Skills: Laser (30% MP / Resonance: 20% MP) Input Method: D + > + A Fires a laser straight ahead. IMA FIRIN MAH LAZOR! Speed Kick (15% MP / Resonance: 10% MP) Input Method: D + > + J Dash forward and kick an enemy. High Kick (15% MP / Resonance: 10% MP) Input Method: D + ^ + A Kick an enemy high into the air. Pillar of Light (70% MP / Resonance: 55% MP) Input Method: D + ^ + J Creates a huge pillar of light around you that sends nearby enemies flying. Self-Heal (70% MP / Resonance: 55% MP) Input Method: D + v +J Use basic healing magic to heal yourself. New items: Spirit Items! When on the ground, these items move by themselves, almost as though they refuse to be picked up... When thrown, they travel slightly further and faster, and will deflect most incoming projectiles. Types of Spirit Items: * Knife * Shuriken * Boomerang New item: Molotov Cocktail! When thrown, it ignites enemies. This isn't actually magic, but rather, science. Stage changes: Shifted milk / cyan orbs that drop at end of stage to be nearer to the end. Increased midboss HP slightly. Added minions to midboss. Buffed HP of minions in final boss. Reduced HP/lives of hostages. Item changes: Bat of Bats and Magic Boomerang will no longer hit enemies that are too close when throwing. (Will go past them and activate) Character changes:

Added new skills to beer and Molotov Cocktail: Item Innate Blast "Flame" -Short Range- (D+>+A): Ignites some of the flammable liquid to burn enemies at short range. Item Auxiliary Ability "Flame" -Long Range- (D+>+J): Ignites some of the flammable liquid to burn enemies at long range. Detonate! "Explosion" (D+v+J): Ignites the entire contents of the bottle and cause a fiery explosion. Added new skill to boomerang (normal): Detonate! "Power Spin" (D+v+J): Throws the boomerang, spinning it with such great speed that it resembles a disk. Added new skills to Cursed Scythe: Item Innate Blast "Skull Blasts" (D+>+A): Summons a skull which pursues enemies. Item Auxiliary Ability "Double Skull Blasts" (D+>+J): Summons two skulls which pursue enemies. Detonate! "Cursed Explosions" (D+v+J): Creates an explosion to your front and back. Be careful, these explosions can hurt allies! Just a couple of fixes and stuff, nothing much interesting. Patch notes: Stage 1 changes: 1-1: Legion of bandits changed. There will now be 4 bandits + 1 bandit per player, and each bandit has 3 lives. 1-3: Fixed bug with higher difficulty midbosses not using the correct number of projectiles. Reduced the damage of midboss projectiles, and made them only able to hit a single target. 1-4: Reworked the meteor shower. About half of the meteors have been replaced with ordinary rocks, to reduce lag. Reduced the amount of flames that appear on the ground, and adjusted them to prevent them from spawning on the items that appear. Bosses: Added an automatic counterattack to certain stage bosses when they get up after being knocked down. Character changes: Bart: Buffed "Dirge for the Deceased" (D + > + A): Increased spawn height of projectiles. Increased number of projectiles. (2 -> 4) Trivia: In Chinese, 4 sounds like 'die', and is considered an unlucky number. Richie: Added new skill: Strafe (15% MP) Hits an opponent thrice at close range. May be used even when unarmed. The final hit is stronger if a weapon is equipped. Changed Gaia's Club's "Earth Blast" (D + > + A) Colour changed to green. Reduced speed, cannot be rebounded, knocks the enemy to the ground hard. BDefend increased to 40 (Cannot be defended against). Changed Wind God's Knife: "Wind Blade" (D + > + A) Colour changed to yellow. Speed, range, and knockback increased, but damage reduced (55 -> 30). If it connects, an additional blade is fired backwards. Additional blade has reduced power and knockback, and counts as your projectile. (Will not hurt self or allies) Fixed bug where dash attack showed a gray area.

Quantity and/or speed of projectiles increase as difficulty increases. Defeat the boss multiple times until they run out of moves to win. (Similar to Touhou Project's Spellcard system) Character changes: Changed all Traits to specify values instead of percentages, because I fail at LF2 math. *Note: TU = Time Unit; 1/30 of a second. The amount of smoke from Meteor has been reduced. Fixed bug where orbs (still) sound like baseballs when knocked around while on the ground. Hi people! I've been working on making some updates to the game, but unfortunately, it is taking longer than expected. In the meanwhile, here's a patch to update what I've done so far, I guess the rest will come in future patches. Patch Notes: Introduction of Traits, and character updates! Traits have been added to several characters. These traits may offer benefits or demerits to the character. Asche: New traits: + Inner Fire: Frozen duration -10%. Fire burns within Asche; he is literally hot. Also it thaws him out more quickly. + Human Immune to Death by Fire: May backflip even when burned. Experts of fire magic do not fear burns; there is no need to apply cold water to burned area. - Defenceless: Defence duration -25%. Practitioners of fire magic tend to neglect defence in favour of offence. Moeyy: New traits: + Artful Dodger: Running speed +20%. Avoid 33% of attacks while running. Master strategists are adept at reading enemies and avoiding their attacks. - Frail Body: Injury duration +40%, DoP duration +33%. Strategists tend to neglect physical training in favour of mental training. Changes: Running animation updated. Moeyy will periodically become transparent while running, to fit with Artful Dodger. Markus: New traits: + Strength: Reduces the speed penalty when carrying a heavy item. + Vitality: Injury duration -40%, DoP duration -33%. Physical training allows one to be less affected by pain. Bart: Fixed a potential exploit allowing Bart to gain MP more than once during Melody of Mana. Bart will now be able to move immediately after Melody of Mana. Richie: New traits: + Weapon Expertise: Normal attack delay -50% when equipped with any weapon. Richie is familiar with all sorts of items, and can wield them with greater proficiency. - Weapon Withdrawal Syndrome: Normal attack delay +50% when unarmed. Richie has become too dependent on items, and is not used to fighting without them. Changes: Richie's "Spirit Bomb" (Detonate Spirit Sword) will now appear at a higher height and travel faster. Fixed a bug where Spirit Bomb would crash the game. Fixed a bug with artifacts not disappearing when on the ground. Artifacts now have additional effects when thrown: Hellfire Scythe: Burns unfortunate victims who get hit by it. Gaia's Club: Slams the target to the ground with great force. Wind God's Knife: Pushes the target further away. Holy Water: Freezes the target. Spirit Sword: Pulls the target towards yourself. AI Updated: A beta AI has been added for some characters! This is a work in progress, and will be gradually updated. Asche AI (WIP): Can use Burning Ash Blast, Spontaneous Combustion, Swirling Ash -Self-, and Self-Immolation. As difficulty increases, becomes better at using Spontaneous Combustion at the right times. As difficulty increases, chance to backflip during burn (new feature) increases. TODO: Teach the noob AI when to use Swirling Ash -Team-, and Flame of Life. Janice AI: Can use all her skills. At normal or higher, will become better at mana management. Bart AI (WIP): Can use all his skills. At normal or higher, will become better at mana management. TODO: Teach the dumb computer how to use normal attacks from a distance. Patch notes: New character: Richie! An artificer who creates his own unique magical items. His skills vary depending on his equipped item. Skills: Item Creation (20% MP) Input method: D + v + J Creates one of your five signature items, which are required for your skills. Press A or J to cycle between items, or D to accept. Items: * Hellfire Scythe - Incinerate your foes with the destructive power of fire. * Gaia's Club - Crush your opponents with the natural power of the earth. * Wind God's Knife - Make quick work of enemies with the swift power of air. * Holy Water - Harness the utility of the power of water. * Spirit Sword - Draw upon the power of your spirit. Item Innate Blast (15% MP) Fires a blast of energy from your item. Hellfire Scythe: "Fireball" A ball of fire which burns enemies. Gaia's Club: "Earth Blast" A blast with the power of the earth. Wind God's Knife: "Wind Blade" A short ranged, but powerful blast of wind. Holy Water: "Cold Blast" Water so cold, it freezes enemies. Spirit Sword: "Spirit Blast" Fires a spread of three spirit blasts with reduced range. Item Auxiliary Ability (30% MP) Uses an ability unique to your equipped item. Hellfire Scythe: "Devil's Judgement" Devils will chase your enemies. Gaia's Club: "Rockfall" A rock drops from the sky to land in front of you. Wind God's Knife: "Wind Palm" Strike distant enemies with the unseen force of the wind. Holy Water: "Pursuant Blast" A homing ball of condensed water which seeks out an enemy. Spirit Sword: "Spirit Shield" Create a magical shield that deflects most incoming attacks. Detonate! (40% MP) Overload your item with massive amounts of mana and unleash its full power. The item is destroyed in the process. Hellfire Scythe: "Explosion" Explodes the Hellfire Scythe to deal heavy damage to nearby enemies. BOOM! Gaia's Club: "Heavenly Meteor's Descent" Three meteors descend in front of you. Wind God's Knife: "Northern Whirlwind" A cold whirlwind that chills your enemies. Holy Water: "Judgement of Goddess" Powerful magic that heals allies and damages enemies. Spirit Sword: "Spirit Bomb" Fires a huge ball in front. |
